Frequently Asked Questions
The cost of the training depends on your training objectives as well as the temperament of your dog. You do not pay an hourly rate or for a "basic training" course. I have worked with countless people who came to me after having already spent hundreds and often thousands of dollars for "dog training" only to be left with unresolved issues. Obedience Matters offers you one price that guarantees a final product. Therefore, if you would like your dog to come when called or even pass a therapy dog certification exam, the price guarantees that I will work with you and your dog until those training objectives are met. The free and private in-home behavioral consultation allows me to assess your dog's drives and trainability which ultimately determine how much work I expect is before us given your training objectives. You pay half of the total cost at the beginning of the program. You pay the second half once the training is complete and you are 100% satisfied with the results. If you decide to enroll in the total off-leash control course, the cost of your training program entitles you to a lifetime of free group lessons. Although most of the training at Obedience Matters consists of private in-home lessons, there are still two to three group and/or agility classes per week held at alternating Philadelphia and Main Line locations. All graduates of the total-control course are welcome to attend.
